ABOUT THE ISLAND

Is Pathéma a reboot or revival of Amatomnes?
No, it’s a spin off. We have been in contact with one of Amatomnes mods and they are completely okay with this spin off. Atia might have attempted to send her “guests” home, but the Greek God, Eros, decided that he wanted what Atia had and figured that being a God of love that he would do a much better job than his cousin. While he’s stolen some of Atia’s ideas, collars and being stuck on an island, he’s a bit more lenient when it comes to how the collars function.

Recently the island has been taken over by the God Apollo and the Goddess Nyx. Half of the island is bathed in continuous sunlight while the other half of the island is in perpetual darkness. Eros still controls the collars, though that's about all he seems to be in control of.

What’s the island named and what's it's deal?
  • Pathéma, and it’s located in the same universe than Atia was. So just like Atia, Pathéma appears to be very much like a Greek island from Earth but is in fact located in a completely different dimension/universe.
  • The island of Pathéma is a little bigger than Manhattan - 28.34 mi². Population is about 2,300, excluding the Collared guests.
  • On Pathéma, time passes in a way that one day in game is one day in real life. All times are considered in GMT
  • The currency is the cherubs. (Yes Eros is that cheesy.) If your character has come in with any money on them, they can go to the island’s bank and even though the natives aren’t pleased about this, they can go in and convert their money to that of the money on the island. Please be reasonable with how much money your character comes in with.
  • Remember that unless your character is EXTREMELY wealthy in canon and would normally walk around with large amounts of money in their wallets - most people logically would only walk around with a couple hundred in their wallets.
  • The only ways around the island is either by foot or by renting a horse from the Natives. Though, characters can ask for a vehicle and gas through God Blessings.

What language is spoken on Pathéma?
The Natives called it the Common tongue, and luckily for all or Eros’ kidnapees/guests, the collar they wear around their neck serves as a natural translator, so they can communicate with each other, and with the Natives. They are of course able to speak their own language if it's in canon to do so.

    What are the Natives like?
The Natives are very loyal to Eros, Nyx and Apollo and they worship them all reverently, and they do not wear collars. They are also very suspicious of the new arrivals, having heard of stories from the other island, Atia, some good ones, some bad ones. Some Natives are willing to work with the collared islanders, some Natives are neutral to them though a lot are downright hostile to the collared. There is an underlying tension between the Natives and the collared, even if the usual interactions are civil.

    COLLARS AND SEX REQUIREMENTS

What's the deal with these collars?
  • As stated before, every character wakes up with one of them around their necks. It can look like anything you want it to (necklaces, actual collars, rope etc etc).
  • Physical intimacy will loosen the collar. The more “physically intimate” the act being done is, the looser the collar will become, with penetrative sex loosening the collar completely. For example, one French kiss every day will keep the collar loose, but skip one day and it’ll be one notch tighter and will stay there if the once-a-day French kisses resumes.
  • Loosening will occur as such: French kiss = 1 day, heavy petting/frottage = 3 days, mutual masturbation = 5 days, oral sex = 7 days, penetrative sex = complete reset of the collar.
  • Solo masturbation will delay the tightening of the collar, but only for so long. Eros wants to be worship through sex after all.
  • If a character fails to loosen the collar before the allotted time, they will die, stay dead for three day and then wake up back in the one of the temples, with a cherished memory gone from their mind. Stubborn characters who keep on dying this way will eventually completely forget their world and will believe they always have been on Pathéma as if they were part of the Natives.

Does sex have to be RPed?
  • If you are more comfortable with fade to black when writing sexual scenes, you are more than welcome to do so. Sex does not have to be written to have occurred.
  • If your partner asks for FTB scenes, you HAVE to respect their desire to do so. Failing to respect your partner’s wish may result in a strike, or even in removal from the game. This is not a subject that we will be lenient on.
  • do not have to RP sexual encounters every 14 days are so. You are more than welcome to, however, but handwaving collar loosening is also accepted.

Are STIs and pregnancies possible in Pathéma?
  • Sexually transmitted infections can be spread on Pathéma. However, as mentioned previously, the hospital is equipped with the best technology available and can provide a cure to any infections or diseases spreading on the island. But since Eros likes his collared pets healthy and active, protection against infections can easily be obtained and the priests are encouraging safe sexual practices.
  • Only biological female characters can get pregnant in Pathéma. Since this player-plot is one that’s played in the long run (9 months of gestation and years of parenting), mod permission is needed to run such a plot.

GASPS! There are children on the island?
  • The short answer is yes.
  • Once a child is born to a collared person, they are strongly encouraged to move to a special family section of the island. This area is shielded from the effects of the curses so no child ever has to be subjected to the going-ons of the curses around them. That being said, if the parent(s) are in the shielded section during the curse, they too are protected but once they step outside of it, they are subjected to whatever the curse might be. Hestia, Goddess of Families, is the one who protects the family section of the island. She also provides caretakers for the children should their parents be under the whim of a curse - this way the children are always looked after.
  • Parents are able to keep their children with them on the island as long as they are willing to allow the children to be taught in the native schools when they come of schooling age. If this is something they are not willing to allow, well, let’s just say that Eros will not be very understanding or lenient.

    HOUSINGS, TECHNOLOGY AND BUSINESSES

Are collared characters provided with housing?
  • Yes. After waking up in one of Eros’ temples, they will be given a map to their small  house.
These houses are very basic and generally have one bedroom, a living room, a kitchen and a small bathroom. There is electricity and running water, but it is expected that characters keep it running with intimate acts.

  • They will also now find a wardrobe filled with their own personal clothing and shoes.
  • More on the housings for the collared people can be found here

Does this means there is no technology on Pathéma?
  • Yes and no. The hospital is running on fairly advanced technology, making it possible to save lives that couldn't be saved otherwise, as well as curing diseases and ailments that couldn't be cured elsewhere.
  • The devices provided to the collared are fairly advanced as well. They can take pictures and record videos, have private filters on text and voice messages, if needed. They are unhackable for now, very much indestructible and self-repair themselves, and if thrown away, they will reappear in the character’s house within the next hour, completely intact.
  • Anything else, unless brought by characters through a God Blessing, has not evolved since the Antiquity.

Can collared characters work and earn money?
  • Yes. They can find odd jobs here and there with the few Natives that will take them in. They can also ask Eros for a blessing and of course they are encouraged to build their own businesses if they so wish. Please be sure to look over the business FAQ and the current businesses to ensure that the business you're wanting for your character isn't something we already have more than one of. This ensures that we don't end up with twenty-five bars in the game.

Will my character be required to work?
  • When your character arrives, they will have enough to get them through their first couple of weeks where basic necessities (food and clothing) are concerned. After that, they will be required to support themselves. So unless they know how to forage and hunt, they should look into getting a job or at least starting a business of their own.

    LAW, ILLNESS/INJURIES AND DEATH

Is there a law system on Pathéma?
  • Since the Natives have always been a peaceful people, there has never been the need for a police system on Pathéma. But the arrival of the Collared guests has brought a new level of distrust and hostility...
  • There is now a native run police station and courthouse. Even without these, there are some crimes that are heavily frowned upon by the Natives, like theft, assault, rape and murder. Those found guilty of those crimes are punished by the Natives or even Themis themselves.

My character has some kind of incurable disease/illness, what now?
You have the option of bringing them in ill, however, remember that health-care in Pathema is highly advanced. They will be able to take some sort of medicine to help to stop it from spreading if it’s something you feel can’t be completely healed. It really is the player’s discretion whether this happens or not. Remember though that if it’s the sort of disease/illness that can be cured in present day times, it ‘s curable in Pathema as well.

    Can characters die on Pathéma?
  • Yes, they can. After their death, their body will disappear for three days, and after the third day, they will reappear, unharmed, in the main temple. The only caveat is that they will have to give up a memory from their world to the God of Dead, Thanatos, in order to come back from the Underworld.

ACCEPTED CHARACTERS; POWERS, PLAYER AND CAST CAPS

What type of characters are accepted into the game?
  • Any fictional character from a fandom is welcome. TV shows, comics, manga, anime, video games, webcomics, whatever you can think of, or original characters of your creation. We do not accept fandom OCs or canon character with too little canon to be appable. Basically, the character needs to have enough set personality for us to compare to the canon. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you want to double-check or require clarification, but a good rule of thumb is: a character must have a solid personality based purely on canon without headcanon having to come into play.
  • Characters from Mythological sources will be looked at on a case by case basis. Any characters having strong ties to any of the Greek Gods won't be able to have those ties to them on the island. The Gods on Pathema would be alternate versions of whatever God your character might know (this goes for canon characters as well).
  • Characters coming from the four major religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam and Hindu) will not be appable unless they come from a fandom and not a religious source.
  • For canon AUs and duplicates, we'll also take these on a case-by-case basis. You'd be welcome to app Clark Kent from Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice when there is already a Clark Kent from Smallville in game, but we wouldn't allow Cassandra Pentaghast from Dragon Age 2 alongside her future self from Dragon Age Inquisition.
  • We do accept Original Characters. These cannot be fandom original characters because we do not need to have a missing Winchester sibling or cousin or a long lost twin sister for Sif. Original characters can come from our real world type of universe, fantasy, horror, sci-fi or a combination of any of them.
  • We do accept characters with previous game history, please be sure to look over the app and follow the instructions regarding this.

    Will characters get their powers?
To an extent, yes. Any superhuman strength or abilities that came with that body will be dampened if not nullified. For example, a cat girl may still be able to hear better than the average human, a character with superhuman strength might be able to toss something the size of a small car around, and vampires can still see slightly better in the dark, but these abilities won't be perfect. Everything is lowered to a level that doesn't give too much advantage over other characters, following the general "Olympic athlete" maximum.

    What about inhuman characters?
Characters that are not human will find themselves modified on waking in Pathema. A humanoid character (like an elf, a vampire, etc) will not have changed at all in appearance. For characters that are entirely inhuman, such as animals or giant robots, they'll be given humanoid form. While a robot character will be transformed into flesh and blood, they could possibly have a mechanical arm or even a leg but overall they would be flesh and blood. An animal character could keep something like their ears or even their tail, but overall they will be humanoid. Please note that If you want to be creative with their appearance, though, you are more than welcome! Players are always welcome to experiment, but once again, please be reasonable and try to keep it within the characterization of the character.
  • There are a few special cases to take note of here, of course. Vampires may or may not still have to drink blood at the player's discretion, but they won't get any superpowers from it (and any blood drinking from other characters need to be agreed upon by everyone involved.). If their facial features change while in Vampire mode, this too is left up to the player. The same applies to characters that might need to eat people or whatever else in order to live. Vampires and other characters that generally can’t be out and about during the day will be able to go out in the sun without being horribly burnt, but they might still sunburn faster than humans. If there are any questions on what you think is a reasonable change to your character, please contact the mods!

Is there a character limit in this game?
  • The character cap is currently set to 6, though this may change in the future and will be offered to those players in good AC standing.

Is there a cast cap in this game?
No, at this point in time we do not have a cast cap in place. This can and will change should there come a point when there is an overwhelming amount of characters from one cast.

    ACTIVITY CHECK AND GOD BLESSINGS

What is the AC like here?
  • AC is super easy here! It's a monthly check-in.

What is a God Blessing and how does it work?
  • God Blessing is just like Atia’s Goddess Favor. It’s a gift from one of the other Gods and can come in many different shapes and sizes. Basically, they’re around to make life on the island easier for characters.
  • There are two types of God Blessings on the island. The first is a basic one, and these are smaller gifts such as a pet or smaller items from home. If your character would care to heal a minor disability or illness, a basic Blessing can be used. Advanced Blessings are for those characters who are more than willing to show the Gods and the other Gods that they’re willing to put in the extra effort to get what they want. Advanced Blessings are for larger gifts that include return of certain powers, healing major disabilities and illnesses. Please check the God Blessing page to learn more about them and how they can be earned.
  • In order to get one of these offerings, a character must leave a small donation or a request at one of the Gods' temples to obtain the Blessing. Most times (OK all the time) the character asking for the blessing, even if it is for another character, must complete some sort of task that the Gods ask of them. This task can be anything! If the character completes the task asked of them to the God's satisfaction then the Blessing will be granted. Sometimes the Gods might be more than pleased by the character's performance and might grant them a little more than they asked. Please note that these tasks are meant to be a trial and might not be something the character is comfortable doing but they are asking a God for a Blessing and they just don’t grant Blessing to anyone.
  • More on the God Blessings can be found here

    ARRIVAL ON THE ISLAND

What does my character arrive with?
  • Your character may arrive on Pathéma with whatever items were in their possession at the time that they were pulled to Pathema - except their clothing. These will be placed next to them at the time that they awake. Additionally, if they require something to be able to move (e.g. Wheelchair), this will also be made available to them. If they require things like glasses and/or hearing aids, these too will arrive with them.
  • As a rule of thumb, your character really should arrive with only the sort of items that could be carried in something the size of a small backpack, or carried easily in their possession. Anything more would require permission from the mods. All items on their person that have supernatural powers will be depowered and become 'normal' objects of mundane value.
  • Anything of technological capacity beyond the 21st century Earth will be inoperable unless it is required for the survival of your character.
  • Characters that have pets with them will arrive alone on the island. However, their pets can be asked for through a God Blessing.

    Where does my character arrive?
Characters will arrive in the temple of whichever part of the island that their housing will be at. Though, in some instances, a character will arrive in the Temple of Eros, this is all at the discretion of the mods.

What else do they arrive with?
Each character who arrives on the island will also find a communication device among their belongings. They are strongly encouraged to use this device to reach out and get to know the other collared guests.

    EVENTS

What kind of events can I expect from Pathéma?
  • Events are called curses, just like on Atia. They are mainly opt-in unless they are game-plot events, which are not going to be sex-related. Monthly events will be curses that will turn around sex, of course, as Eros wants even more power through worship. During those, you can expect weather to cause changes in lust and desire, food making the character go horny, or collars snapping on their own, to name a few examples. Curses might sometimess change the personality of the characters participating in, or their memories too. These are just a few examples of the curses that count happen on the Pathéma island.
  • Player-plots are more than welcome, as well. You can inform us of them right here. We also take suggestions of all kind for curses. You can make a suggestion here.

What about eyewear if it looks to be prescription? In canon Kristen Kringle (Gotham) has only been seen without her glasses a handful of times so I'm in the camp of she's needing them on medical grounds (the show never said why either so I'm thinking she's nearsighted or something along those lines). There are photos of her actress without them so if needed she could get contacts but I think she's her with the glasses.

Hopefully all that made sense and TIA!
