pathemamods | Canon Updating

Canon updating a character is possible, provided they have a canon point to be updated to from whatever their original application point may have been. We ask that you use common sense when updating your character and that you provide us with as much information about your character's canon update and how it will affect them as possible.

In particular, we want the new canon point specified and want to know how the events that have occurred between their application canon point and this update point affects the character, especially in regards to their personality and/or memories and how this change will impact their life on Pathema when they return. For your convenience, we have provided an optional form with information that must be considered to canon update.

Important events that transpired between the two points:: Season 3 shows a very focused Seth unlike the version that started season 2. Instead of using heroin, he is seen doing pull-ups/working out. Instead of being seen with the opposite sex (the way Richie is seen to start season 3), Seth only has a male assistant he keeps company with other than his brother. He is improved but not whole and often mentions the empire he and Richie have is built on bad blood 'the body of a dead kid'--referring to Kate.

At the end of season 2, Seth had Richie suffering blows and sunlight in anger of all those they had lost. The man who raised them was named as well as the preacher's daughter. Season 3 starts with that tension still between them, Richard having to state more than once that he didn't kill Kate.

The empire the two have is with permission from the Culebra Lords, acting as what Seth calls 'bagmen' for them. They collect from different groups while also trying to run their own business out of Jackknife Jed's. Seth remains in it for Richie's sake but is outwardly unhappy/unsettled. The brothers are called upon when someone/something begins to hunt the Lords.

Once or twice during season 3, Seth speaks as if he's only in league with the culebras to benefit himself but it isn't long before the Lords are gone and he is still in the fight. Seeing that Kate was alive had an affect on him. He was the first to see her and ask how to save her, repeatedly asking throughout the encounters with the god from hell who had taken her body.

There was a selfishness seen in Seth through most of the series until season 3. He showed hints of worrying about his brother and standing up for those that were defenseless but nothing like the end of season 3 where he was shown sacrificing himself by the end after Kate stepped into hell (had Kisa not shown up to fight Amaru).

Seth had shot Scott in the head (knowing after doing the same to Richie that the young culebra could survive the wound and release him from Amaru's grasp) then thrown the gun down to take what was coming to him from the Xibalban goddess. He was seen just moments before pointing the same gun and threatening Kate not to take another step toward the gate, refusing to let her sacrifice herself until she explained her reasons for doing so ('proving herself in the eyes of the people she loved'). He led Kate to believe he had let her go only with the intention of joining her (and Richie, who had been taken to the other side).

The moment Kate stepped through hell and Seth had thrown his gun down yet seeing a wounded Kisa attempt to fight Amaru is where he returns to Pathema, never seeing Kate and Richie step back through or Amaru destroyed by the combination of Kisa and Kate. However, he did spend the season allied with Kisa and other culebras who gave their lives in the fight to bring down the Queen of Xibalba.

How these events affected the characters personality and/or memories:? Pathema will have a less self-destructive Seth Gecko that takes his behavior toward others into consideration more than the one last seen. However, he might not say it outright. Or he might ramble in an effort to make things right. He won't have remembered anything while out of Pathema but returns with his memories and would find he had a number of amends to make.

The impact this canon update have on the character's life on Pathema: Seth would be protective of Kate and Richie but believing in both enough where he wouldn't be as possessive, knowing they can take care of themselves. He would be more loyal to both than he had been and hold some of that regard to Kisa as well along with others who helped him previously in Pathema.

In a sense that loyalty would have him in turmoil, feeling he betrayed Kate but knowing it was necessary to his survival as well as that of others around. Seth would remain with that conflict from before in a deeper sense but not deal with it in a self destructive manner the way he had been.

Pathema would aesthetically see him not just in suits but more dressed down yet not the bearded scraggly mess in tanktops from before (between a cleaner shave to just a little more than five o'clock shadow while having a shorter haircut). Seth would continue on the path of making the gods' lives hell or as much as he could without others having to suffer for his ideas/attempts.

Your update request is granted! Seth will leave the island on September 15th and return on the 22nd of September. It's up to you whether or not he remembers his time on the island while he's gone and how much he remembers when he gets back. When he does get back, he will awaken naked in the temple with a familiar piece of material for a toga next to him.

RL got in the way of Seth returning the 22nd. I'll have him return with Richie instead. Thanks for all that you do!

Important events that transpired between the two points::

After the events of Superman's funeral and the attack in Midway City, Diana returned to her job at The Louvre.

Receives the original photograph of her, Steve, Chief, Sammy and Charlie that was taken in 1918 with a note from Bruce saying maybe one day she will tell him her story. She writes him an e-mail thanking him for returning the photo.

Diana dons her armor and returns to being a hero.

Superman's death reactivated the motherbox and brought about Steppenwolf's return to Earth in an effort to regain favor with his master, Darkseid.

Steppenwolf manages to retrieve the Mother Box from Themyscira, prompting Queen Hippolyta to warn her daughter Diana of Steppenwolf's return by lighting the invasion fire in the Amazon temple in Greece.

Diana joins Bruce Wayne in his attempt to unite other metahumans to their cause (Fighting Steepnwolf). The others join eventually - Victor when his father and a few S.T.A.R. lab employees are kidnapped by Steppenwolf who was looking to acquire the Mother Box from mankind. Arthur joins after Steppenwolf attacks Atlantis to retrieve the next Mother Box.

Diana punches Bruce for bringing up Steve. And she along with the group finds out that Arthur finds Diana very attractive.

The group retrieves the mother box that Victor had hidden and decide to use it to bring back Superman - which they do. They hope to have him help them fight Steppenwolf and bring hope back to humanity.

Superman almost kicks all of their butts but almost kills Bruce. Bruce brings out Lois which calms him down. He goes off to his home with Lois and meets up with his mother and reflects on his memories.

Steppenwolf retrieves the mother box easily and heads off to Russia to unite the Mother boxes once again and remake Earth.

The team, minus Superman travel to Russia to confront Steppenwolf.

They their way through the Parademons to reach Steppenwolf, although they are unable to distract him enough for Stone to separate the Mother boxes.

Superman arrives and assists Barry in evacuating the city, as well as Victor in separating the Mother Boxes.

The team defeats Steppenwolf, who, overcome with fear, is attacked by his own Parademons before they all teleport away.

Bruce and Diana agree to rebuild Wayne Manor as a base of operations for the team, with additional space for more potential heroes.

Diana steps back into the public spotlight as a hero.
How these events affected the characters personality and/or memories:? Nothing really changes in her personality except that she readily embraces who she is now. She's also more likely to take charge in situations instead of letting other people dictate when things happen around her.
The impact this canon update have on the character's life on Pathema: She'll pretty much stay the same except she's less likely to take crap from people and will more than likely try and step up in the shaping of the island.
